Write Yourself a Love Letter!

Posted on May 13, 2021 by ayokatheblogger

Have you considered writing yourself a love letter! You heard right –a love letter. This small gesture allows you to reflect, admire, and document the best parts of you. Below are some tips to get you started.

  1. Find a quiet, cozy, and comfortable area to write.
  2. Temporarily put your cell phone on Do Not Disturb or Airplane Mode while writing.
  3. Grab a sheet of paper or use your favorite word processing platform. I personally enjoy handwriting my love letters. I have a designated notebook for this practice. My fave is this spiral notebook.
  4. Set a 15-minute timer.
  5. Begin by setting an intention. What do you hope to accomplish by writing this letter?
  6. Begin writing. Remember, don’t overthink the process. Let your hand guide the process. Show off a little! Celebrate the qualities that make you unique. Write the things that put a smile on your face.
  7. Revisit your letter(s) from time to time and fall in love with yourself each time.

I mainly blog about mental health topics and, when applicable, use it as an opportunity to help other mental health practitioners. As a Social Worker, I am professionally trained to provide individuals, families, and groups with the tools needed to facilitate change and address elements of their social conditions. This is accomplished by focusing on my client’s overall well-being and working collaboratively to help achieve their specific goals and attain greater fulfillment. I genuinely love what I do and created this space to share that with others. Enjoy.
